Personal Resilience Training

The one on one sessions are educational and informative covering a vast range of topics centered around the neurobiology of resilience. These sessions are inspired by the content created by the Trauma Resource Institute for the Community Resiliency Model. The primary focus during the one on one resiliency sessions is to educate individuals about the biology and neurophysiology of trauma, stress and resilience as well as teach simple biologically-based wellness skills, which can help reset and stabilize the nervous system.

Cross Border Classrooms - A Community Initiative

Cross Border Classrooms is a community initiative by The SEL Lab that promotes dialogue across borders in South Asia through Social Emotional Learning education.
Our community programs are built for educators, change markers and peace builders to equip them with social emotional tools to support the work on the ground and at the same time it creates a space for cross border dialogues and knowledge sharing.

More about the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® -

Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® is developed by the co-founder of the institute, Elaine Miller-Karas. The Trauma Resource Institute’’s CRM®️ teaches us how to track (“read”) our nervous system and soothe it using a set of six wellness skills, bringing it back into balance. This helps us restore our resiliency (at individual and collective levels), and over time, increase it. In turn, that allows us to handle greater challenges (over time) without feeling overwhelmed.

Through CRM®️, individuals learn to read sensations connected to their own well-being, which the Trauma Resource Institute calls the “Resilient Zone”. These sessions are based on a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach. These skills will help you learn how to calm down when you are upset so you can engage the challenges you face from the best part of yourself. Learning to read our bodies’ signals when we are in different “zones” can begin to help us understand the different ways we respond to stressful situations.

The individual sessions are customized to each person’s needs covering the following topics-

  • The Resilient Zone
  • Six wellness skills
  • Universal neurobiological patterns of stress and trauma
  • Understanding your survival responses
  • Adverse childhood experiences and positive childhood experiences
  • Post traumatic growth
  • Autonomic nervous system
  • Implicit and explicit memories
  • Memory capsules
  • Mirror Neurons
  • Understanding individual context and self-care plans
